Jenna Marie Shafer is a Session Hairstylist based in New York City. She loves what she does because she loves people; telling people's stories, unveiling their beauty, & styling their hair along the way. Jenna's career truly celebrates the art of hairdressing, as she has always been obsessed with styling & finishing hair from breaking down intricate updos to practicing the viral trends in braiding. That's why she loves sharing her knowledge as an amika: Lead Pro Educator & Platform Artist, teaching salons & stylists the latest techniques in styling & finishing hair.

Seeking to take her career as a Session Hairstylist to the next level, Jenna was privileged to live & work in London from 2018 - 2020. While in London she was honored to regularly assist & learn from Cyndia Harvey, represented by Art Partner. She also gained invaluable experience assisting a variety of artists represented by Streeters, Julian Watson, LGA Management, Premier, and Art Partner. Since moving back to NYC in 2021, Jenna has had the privilege of regularly assisting and learning from Tamara McNaughton at Bryant Artists. She has also sought to expand her experience working with celebrities and red carpet by assisting a variety of artists at The Wall Group, including Chris Appleton.

One of Jenna’s favorite times of the year is during Fashion Week, as she loves the energy of working backstage in New York, London, Milan & Paris. Over the years she has been privileged to assist some of the best hairdressers in the world: Guido Palau, Sam McKnight, Gary Gill, Cyndia Harvey, James Pecis, Duffy, Esther Langham, Naeemah LaFond, Kien Hoang, Yusef, Danilo, & Bob Recine to name a few. In 2019 she further elevated her skills by participating in the Backstage Bootcamp from Session Kit.

Jenna specializes in hair styling for fashion, editorial, & special events. She loves helping her clients find the perfect look, anywhere from natural & effortless to wild & creative or classic & timeless. Her passion to share her knowledge & skills with others led her to volunteer for a month to teach at Shear Love International, a cosmetology school in Thailand.
